Tiling a swimming pool in Remenham hill, Henley-on-Thames Oxfordshire.

March 31st, 2009

Just in time for summer!

In 2008 Deep End Pools had work accepted to carry out works to a fully mosaic tiled swimming pool in Henley on Thames Oxfordshire, works began on the tiled swimming pool in early March 2009.

The swimming pool had some failed tiled areas to the mosaic tile band section and low grout to the swimming pool tank; the old certikin coping stones were also a little worse for wear.

The swimming pool stripped of it tiles, copings and aged swimming pool surround we set upon our works.

The swimming pool surround in Henley on Thames has been replaced with a travertine stone in keeping with the period house and the subtle use of the Ardoise Sahara stone coping blended with the Waxman glass mosaic tiles ordered especially with a Greek key pattern.

David our swimming pool tiller, today was putting the finishing touches to the pool applying the ardex swimming pool grout, once cured the swimming pool will filled, water balanced and the installation of the new Aqua deck Es solar powered swimming pool safety cover fitted.

Other light remedial works to the project would include new surround plastics and certikin anti vortex main drain grill.

If you are considering swimming pool tiling, or any form of swimming pool renovation please contact deep end pools holtspur Beaconsfield 01494 671787

A Cover Up Story in Latimer? is your hot tub covered?

March 27th, 2009

We received a call this morning to investigate the running costs of an existing inground spa, nearby an Old Lincoln swimming pool construction. the in ground spa had been installed for some years using the heat from a Stainless steel certikin Blue ripple heat exchanger, however the heat had never really retained particularly well to the spa.

Upon first investigation given the in ground spa was located outside, it was only covered via a 5mm heat retention cover of HRC for short. rather than beef up the heat exchanger for the in ground spa, we have decided to supply and install a new more traditional spa cover in two half’s manufactured bespoke to fit the spa form shell.

We will specify a 4lb density foam spa cover and retain the undercover heat retention cover as well for an added bit of heat retention we are confident this is all that is required.

If you would like to ensure your spa or hot tub is sufficiently covered please feel free to call we will try and advise.

No more Chlorine smells for Mr Jewell, Aylesbury Bucks.

March 27th, 2009

Mr Jewell Has become a very valued customer now for 2 seasons and a very keen swimming pool owner. However for many reasons including time constraints and available time to look after his swimming pool Mr Jewell has requested an alternative to Chlorine.

After much deliberation over the benefits of salt water over Uv and Ozone treated swimming pools we opted that in fact the Pool Fresh Ionizer system is more suited to Mr Jewell and his family’s needs.

Pool fresh enables the use of very little sanitizer additions to the swimming pool using ionizer technology to eliminate harmful swimming pool bacteria, all that is required is frequent checking to the Pool fresh Probe system and regular additions of the Pool fresh sachet.

Swimming pool liner season has started, Need a new Liner?

March 26th, 2009

Today we have received a record number of orders for swimming pool liner changes, Liners often last 10-20 years depending on many variants: temperature the swimming pool is run at, chemical usage and exposure to UV from the sun.

We choose to use only the best swimming pool liners on the market from Certikin int ltd and Aquaflex ltd, both companies producing excellent service for 30thou or 40 thou liners however we only really choose to install the thicker of the two liner the 0.75mm thickness swimming pool liner, Pvc liners are ideally suited for change in the dead heat of the swimming pool season and today’s orders proved no change there.

Our orders for liner change service today varied from a swimming pool in Marlow Buckinghamshire, a liner pool in Penn Bucks, and Woodley in Reading Berkshire.

We are scheduled to install 4 liners next week: 1 x Foxx liner swimming pool in Flackwell Heath, High Wycombe Bucks, an old swimming pool liner installation to a block and liner pool built by Lincoln Pools Studley green the liner is destin for Great Kimble, Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, A Liner fitment to Farnham Common bucks to a panel pool system and finally a swimming pool liner installation in to a swimming pool built by chiswell pools in the 80’s to an old cascade swimming pool liner pool.

Our current turnaround for liner removal, Measure, preparatory works and installation is 5-10 working days. So now is the time to book a liner change or even whilst you are away on holiday.

We will keep you posted.

01/04/09

today we set off to install a liner in Great Kimble Aylesbury Buckinghamshire, to an old block and liner, Lincoln swimming pool we will keep you posted.

Heston Blumenthal uses a Hot tub to stew a Pig!

March 25th, 2009

Last night’s episode of Heston Blumenthal’s latest Channel 4 Programme, Heston’s Feasts Saw Heston Stew a pig in a Canadian spa!

Heston Blumenthal owner of the Fat Duck Restaurant Bray Berkshire uses a Portable hot tub spa to stew a pig!

Tony Burnett from the Canadian spa company, a very similar spa manufacturer to the Marquis spa range, was given the opportunity to utilise a portable spa to stew a huge hog stuffed into a plastic bag.

Were you surprised by Heston’s request to cook a hog in one of your hot tubs?

Yes we were surprised at first at the request, but after giving it some thought and having seen some of Heston’s work before it didn’t really seem weird at all.

So was the hog left floating there all day?

Yes, the hog was left to ‘relax’ in the spa for most of the day and all night too. We left the radio on for it so that it didn’t get too lonely and could feel all the health benefits that a Canadian Spa Company spa bath has to offer. We put the LED lights on for it as well.

It all looked like an absolutely fabulous time from lifting the hog into the spa using a fork lift truck to removing the Hog and presenting to the celebrities at the table little did they know at this time the hog had been stewed in a 60degre an American spa hot tub!

We congratulate The Canadian Spa Company for the great TV; we would love to know how the filtration coped with pig!

If you would like to consider a Marquis spa very similar to the Canadian Spa used in Heston’s programme then call deep end pools today to discuss you hot tub or spa needs 01494 671 787

Oh less the pig though……

The Swimming pool outdoor open Season has Started!

March 24th, 2009

This week has seen the first of our summer open ups or summarisations! Andrew one of our engineers opened a swimming pool in Maidenhead Berkshire and early reports being:

High water levels

Good swimming pool clarity

Good condition winter cover

Very little debris in the swimming pool

Well this is what we expect being we actually closed the pool the previous year, so once again if you have not opened your pool early our suggestion is simply have a peak under the cover and check your pool is all clear.

Andrew added our usual drill of high quality chemicals Bartlett’s summer clear algaecide and Fi clor super fast shock granules

The system has been left online set on 24hr running until the swimming pool has achieved 8 turnover periods and chlorine level has settled then on with the heat!!!!!!!!!!!

For summer opening chemicals buy online or phone for advice 01494 671787
